Being selfish for once in my lifeby Anon
I had to make myself forget what happened and start again loving myself and consciously stopping negative thought patterns. I started all over again. I worked out my body and I ate well and paid attention to my diet. If people were not going to treat me well and things could not be worked out because of their problems that they were not able to overcome then sad as it was I made myself realise I was better without that kind of problem in life. Comment from Moderator: Thanks for your submission and I think you have shown a great insight into the workings of domestic violence. As you say, it is THEIR problems, and we only allow them to become OUR problems when we buy into the whole blame-shifting game. In recognising that the problem was theirs to deal with, you managed to detach yourself and step away from an abusive situation. Well done! |
