Hidden Hurt Domestic Abuse Information

You can do this

Positive self talk

You can do this. It apparently takes 7 attempts on average to leave an abusive relationship.

I had tried to leave so many times.

When I finally left my ex husband I had to explain to my parents why, as social services were threatening to take my children.

By the time I did go I had no choice. I lost my home, possessions, work everything. But by then I was so determined to get away as long as I had my children everything else was just stuff.

My point is, when you are ready, make your plan. Get out and stay out. Use your local DV service to help you - you will waver & be so confused, terrified, 'alone' that you must take all the help you can get.

But you can do this.
